Celtic Music For Your Life Journey

The Irish Uilleann Pipes are a hauntingly romantic instrument that is sure to provide a unique, ancient, powerfully moving, magical score for your life event.

The Uilleann pipes are a much quieter, mellower and sweeter in tone than their distant cousin, the Great Highland Bagpipe and as primarily an indoor instrument, they are sure to add a unique touch of traditional Celtic charm, beauty and distinction to any special occasion.

Mac, in the spirit of the "Gentlemen Pipers," has carefully selected his repertoire from the corpus of Baroque and Classical traditional music; slow ayres, waltzes, set dances and pieces that are sure to enhance any life event. Mac has also composed several tunes in this style which are quickly becoming favourites with his clients.

As well as performing on the pipes, Mac performs on high whistles, low whistle (a low, mellow instrument with a similar sound to an Irish flute), native flute, 24-string lyre (a custom-made wire-strung lap harp) and didjeridu (a folk instrument with a low drone, typically associated with Australian aboriginal peoples, but with a history and strong connection to the Celts as well).

As an English and Scottish Gaelic singer with a particular passion for the Sean Nós (Gaelic for old style), Mac is also able to bring the rich wealth and beauty of traditional singing, poetry recitation and storytelling, in either English or Gaelic, to any special occasion, which can beautifully adorn your life event with the rich history, culture, traditon and mystery of the Celtic lands.
